Happy New Year! We hope that you were able to ring in a happy and healthy new year. This is the year of the dog in the Chinese Zodiac. The character for ‘dog’ traditionally symbolized harvest, as it is made up of components which together mean cutting crops and gathering them into bunches during harvest. Since ancient times and still today, we pray for a plentiful harvest and share in giving thanks for bountiful blessings. 2018 also represents the 20th anniversary of HIGASHI-YAMA Tokyo. Never forgetting our original intention, together across the seasons of this year we will devote ourselves to sharing truly pleasurable dining experiences with you. We look forward to welcoming you all starting with dinner service today. Chef Kazuki Watanabe |
