This email is sent to guests who have dined with us at HIGASHI-YAMA Tokyo and our affiliated restaurants and to those who have registered from our website.

As Autumn fills the skies with vibrantly colored leaves, we hope you are doing well.

FOOD NIPPON is our series of seasonal events focused on "rediscovering Japanese food culture." Since 2013, we have been gathering stories from around Japan that tell of the richness of this country, delving into various foods and customs by learning from our ancestors' wisdom and ingenious adaptations that have been passed down through generations.

For the third year of FOOD NIPPON, we have been featuring Oita Prefecture. In order to share with you the wonderful charm of Oita, we have been introducing our very own reinterpretations of the food of Oita for each of the four seasons this year.

This month, from Monday, November 2nd until Saturday, November 14th, we will be featuring a special FOOD NIPPON event outside of this year’s Oita theme. We will present to you Tottori prefecture by introducing various dishes that use ingredients from the region, serving each dish in Noriyuki Yamamoto’s renowned “Iwaigama” pottery.

We are looking forward to your visit.

Chef Kazuki Watanabe
